Reception workspace

OPD queue and token management software

A token is the smallest unit of order in a busy OPD. ClinicToday turns it into a live, shared queue — one number the receptionist, the doctor and the patient all agree on.

How the token flow works

  • Receptionist searches by name or phone; new patients register in the same box
  • Pick the doctor — the token is issued against that doctor's queue for the day
  • A token slip prints with the number, patient name, doctor and clinic details
  • The doctor's screen shows who is now serving, who is next and the waiting count
  • Wait time is colour-coded, so a patient waiting too long is visible immediately

Multi-doctor clinics

Each doctor has their own numbering for the day, so a dental chair and a paediatric room can run in parallel without collisions. Reception sees every queue in one command table and can move, recall or close a token without leaving the screen.

Why digital tokens beat a paper register

A paper register cannot answer "how many are waiting?" or "what is today's average wait?". ClinicToday keeps a live count of waiting, in-consultation and completed patients, and reports the day's average wait so you can staff the busy hours properly.

Offline tokens

Token issuing is the one thing that can never stop. When the connection drops, tokens are written to the device and pushed to the server as soon as the network returns — the queue stays accurate either way.
